Web Page: The site is www.ncwoutdoors.com and Ron is continually updating information as he receives it.
Game Meat:We are looking for any donated wild game meat. Contact Ron at 884-9369 or Irv at 884-3071. Our freezer is located at 1570 Tedford in East Wenatchee and is accessible 24 hours a day. You may also contact George Komro at 884-5359.
Game Feed: As our February 2002 game feed rapidly approaches, we find ourselves in need of items that will keep our overhead down and provide more money for wildlife projects. One item is elk meat. If we don't have enough meat for the barbecue we have to supplement it with beef. Another item is sponsorship and for donations of large raffle items, like rifles, handguns, archery or fishing. If you are interested in being a sponsor contact Matt Gutzwiler at 663-1526.
Game Feed Ticket Sales: The game feed tickets will be available at our December meeting and may be purchased at Valley Feed, Rocky's and One Shot (remember One Shot has moved to Wenatchee, address is 201 S. Chelan, right across from the post office building.
Department Report:: Bob Perleberg reports the WDFW may be coming up with a creative Christmas gift idea. By mid December you may be able to purchase a 2002-2003 hunting and / or fishing license. This would make an excellent Christmas gift. Check with Bob after mid December at 662-0452. As a reminder, it is mandatory to report the harvest or non-harvest of deer, elk, bear and turkeys. You may do so by website or the toll free phone number on the tags.
Tom McCall and Pete Lopushinsky wish to thank the volunteers who helped fill feeders in the Swakane / Chelan Butte and Tarpiscan / Colockum areas. Approximately 15 - 20 tons was handled. The volunteers were Joe Bell, Larry Wadkins, Larry Gordon, George Komro, Jim Pritchard, Bob Morrison, Neil Fulwiler, Rick Isaacson and his partner Ron. A special thank you to Marc Hallet and his crew from Bridgeport.
Lifetime Membership:A reminder, we offer and welcome lifetime memberships. The cost is a one time $250.00 fee.
Wallace Endowment Grant:This is money available for wildlife improvements such as feeders, spring improvements or planting of shrubs and small trees. Such projects can be performed on public or private property. Contact Larry Wadkins at 663-5870. Due date in late January of 2002.
"Little Big Horn Show":
Program:The program in November by Neil Hedges on bats was very interesting. Of the 45 different species of bats in Washington, 15 of the species reside here in North Central Washington.
December program is our annual"Little Big Horn Show". We welcome all of you to bring in your trophy ---
whether it be deer, bear, cat, elk, goat and etc. The related stories are of equal importance.
January program will be Gordon Congdon of the Chelan / Douglas County Land Trust. He will be speaking on the benefits of investing in the land trust.
