Department Report:Bob Perleberg is encouraging all of us regardless of special interest to contact our legislators (see names and addresses below) concerning WDFW cuts. They again want to consolidate regions 2 and 3. Their rationale is "our regions have such low densities they can't justify both." Look at our density on weekends and summer, when the west side takes over Eastern Washington. They want to do away with all customer service people at regional offices. Olympia's motto is Good Public Services!! They want to eliminate the sale of fishing and hunting licenses at all regional offices. This would probably eliminate Bob's job. The Olympia office of WDFW is making the recommended cuts to the Office of Financial Management. They in turn make recommendations to the legislature. Write letters of concerns to your local representatives and others in Olympia. The contact information listed can also be found in the new Hagadone phone book on page 36. Older phone books will have the same information. If you don't like writing letters you can call the legislative hotline at 1-800-562-6000.
