 General Meeting: January 8, 2000   Eagles Lodge - 7:30pm

Program: If you want to learn first hand about the Chelan County Commissioners effort to save Mission Ridge Ski area, you'll get that opportunity at our Monday, January 8, 2001 meeting. Bill McDowell or Dave Parkhill, with the Public Development Authority (PDA) will give a slide presentation as to why the commissioners should give the PDA group the green light to purchase Mission Ridge and do a 10 million dollar improvement. Bring a fellow member or guest.

Department Report: Starting March 1, 2001 you will be able to purchase hunting and fishing licenses via the computer, internet or phone. The end of March all cougar hunting report cards should be mailed to the department --- even if you did not bag a cougar. Be sure to check the hunting pamphlet for the closing dates for upland birds and water fowl. Bob Perleberg at 662-0452 is always happy to answer any questions you have. Tom McCall reports an aerial deer count in early December showed deer populations in Chelan and parts of Douglas counties is on the increase and look healthy.

Wallace Endowment Grant: Do you have any ideas that would enhance wildlife? If so, contact Larry Wadkins or share your idea at our next meeting. Call Larry Wadkins at 663-5870. Mid January is the due date to have them at our department office.

Game Feed: The game feed is February 12, 2001, doors open at 5:00pm. Tickets are on sale at One Shot, Rocky's, Valley Feed and Eastmont Animal Clinic. Gordy Goodwin at 663-3620 and Ron Bruno at 884-9369 are also selling tickets. Ticket sales will be limited and usually sell out by late January. This year ticket sales will also be available over the internet as well. Contact Ron Bruno by www.ncwoutdoors.com. Print the coupon, mail the coupon and check to Ron and he will return a ticket. Should you have wild game to donate to the game feed at a later date, Ron would like to know the species and approximate weight. Doing so will help him determine his menu.

Donations for the Game Feed - We have had the following rifles donated by the following individuals: Ron and Don Jagla donated a Sako 338 Winchester Rifle (going to the individual who wins the drawing for selling 4 or more lifetime memberships), Neil Fulwiler donated a 22 hornet / 410 over and under, the Wenatchee Heights Men's Social Club a 50 caliber muzzle loader and a Winchester Model 94, 30-30 rifle by another individual.

Duck Cleaning - Irv Garney has asked us to set aside Thursday, February 8, 2001 as the date to clean ducks - 6:00pm. Call Irv at 884-3071 if you have questions.

Alcohol - We are making a change in our alcohol issue. Beer and wine will be sold instead of being given away. Tickets must be purchased and then exchanged for beer or wine. This decision was based upon strong recommendations of the Liquor Control Board.

Games & Raffle's - You will be seeing some major changes in our games and raffle's. Along with our large general raffle, we will be adding several new games and raffle's. They are dice games, dart games, hat raffle's, silent auction, card games, a juvenile raffle and a lifetime membership raffle.

Lifetime Membership: The Sako 338 will be the raffle item for the individual who sells four or more lifetime memberships prior to the drawing.

Volunteers Needed: We need many volunteers to help run the games, serve alcohol, be miscellaneous helpers and receivers. Most of all we need volunteers to help clean up after the feed. Many hands will help us get out before midnight.
