General Meeting:
January 9th, 2006 ,at Eagles Lodge - 7:30 pm
Game Feed Date:February 13, 2006, at the Eagles Lodge with doors opening at 5:00pm
Game Feed Menu:Ron Bruno and Tom Obregon have changed the menu slightly by adding three new dishes. They are bear lasagna, elk chili and elk roast and cabbage. At last report Ron could use some white meat fish like cod.
Game Feed Tickets:Tickets will be available at our January meeting and also at Rocky's House of Guns, Valley Feed and One Shot. Ron Bruno (884-9369) and Gordon Goodwin (663-3620) are also selling tickets. Prices are adult $35.00, youth (16 and under) $25.00 and Lifetime Members $20.00. Be sure to show your life membership card when buying your tickets. If you have renewed for 2006 prior to the game feed all you need to pay is $20.00 for the feed. Doors open at 5:00pm and dinner is at 6:00.
Game Feed Changes:To expedite things we will be making some minor changes as you enter the game feed and at the end, when paying your bills, so stay tuned for more info later.
Help Needed:As always we can use a lot of help to make this game feed a success. We need a large crew in the kitchen that starts work around 7:00am. At that same time a set up crew is needed out on the floor. In both areas we have to kick feathers to have things ready by 5:00pm. Your help is needed and appreciated. Also, we need a crew of 4 to 6 willing to work at the entrance table selling tickets, handling money and following instructions given by Randy Hein. This is a fast paced position that will keep you involved throughout the evening. Please be at our January meeting if interested. Again, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Wallace Endowment Grant:Grant applications must be completed and submitted to Ron Fox by Feb. 28, 2006. If you have any questions call Ron Fox at 665-3383.
Department Reports:Amy Wickenhagen reports there will be 6 public meeting across the state reviewing the next 3 year hunting package (2006-2008). The closest 2 locations will be at the Wenatchee Convention Center January 24 and in Pasco on January 25 at the Trac which is located on 6600 Burden Blvd. Meeting times is 7:00-9:30pm. Remember those harvest reports must be reported by January 31, 2006. A $10.00 fine could be applied to your 2006 license. The canceled December elk meeting has been rescheduled for mid February. Check with Amy for date, time and location. Her phone number is 662-0452.
December Program :While the trophy numbers were down the related stories were perhaps the best. The top three vote getters were: Mom and her 3 year old hunting partner (her daughter) and the two handicapped hunter stories.
January Program:The program for the January
meeting will be allotting all of our time to the game feed.
February Program:The February program will be the game feed so get your tickets and get out to this great event.
March Program:We hope to have Laura Applegate (Big Game Management Roundtable). She would like to talk to us about the Colockum elk herd. There could be another spokes person from the Kittitas Field and Stream Organization.
