Steel Workers Hall –
Special Recognition and Awards: “Sportsmen of the Year” for
2008 went to Bill Morrison for his
donation of time, tools and truck miles volunteering on work parties. “Special Recognition” awards went to Ruth Low,
Richard Gutzwiler and Mike Jacobucci
for their donation of time.
A Special Thank You!!: An extra special thank you goes out to all of the
individuals who helped make the game feed another success. This means all the way from Gene Robard and his committee to the kitchen crew, floor set up
crew, the evening working crew and right down to the individuals who came and
enjoyed another great wild game feed.
The small Tuesday morning cleanup crew needs a thank you also.
The Most Important Thank You: The biggest thank you goes out to the 130 or
140 individuals and businesses who donated money and/or items. Many thanks again.

Food For Thought: The club would like your thoughts at our
March meeting on the possibility of the club purchasing a used full size pickup
for club use. Bring your thoughts and
ideas to the meeting.
Big
Horn Mount: Aaron Mathison
was the highest sealed bidder on the “Big Horn Mount” that was on display at
our game feed. This includes having the
mount on display and bidding at a FNAWS Banquet held on the coast a week or so later. The funds
collected will go towards maintenance on the 97-A fence project. A hearty congratulations
and thank you to Aaron. It also needs to
be noted that “Creative Taxidermy” mounted the head for us free
of charge.
Department Report: Spring bear permits are due by March 13th.
New Biologists: There are two new biologists on board, Dave Volsen arrived late last fall from the
March Program: Art Viola will be our program and will be
talking to us about projects where he could use volunteers. We as a club spend all of our time with
wildlife but not enough time with fisheries.
We have another potential volunteer project coming up this fall. This project will be addressed but not acted
on until we get more information.
April
Program: Jennifer
Diaz from the Wild Horse Wind Project (Puget Sound Energy) will be with us
again in April.
May Program: The club is still trying to hook up with the
Grizzly bear fellow.
