 General Meeting: May 14th, 2001   Eagles Lodge - 7:30pm

Volunteers Needed: Ron Bruno needs some volunteers during the pike minnow fishing derby. He has one hundred fishing poles to rig, give to and assist youths to fish during the derby June 9th and 10th. Call Ron at 884-9369.

Election of Officers: Election of officers will take place this May. If you are interested in running for office be at the meeting or share your desires with someone who will be at the meeting.

Youth Camp: We need two boys to send to summer camp on Orcas Island. This is a one week camp and fee's are free. The boys week will start about the 3rd week of July. Contact Gordon Goodwin at 663-6320 for more information.

Game Department Report:Bob Perleberg reports the hunting pamphlet will be out the week of May 14th and on the internet May 2nd or 3rd. Special Permit deadline is mid-night June 10th -- even though it is a Sunday. To apply call a toll free number or take it off the internet. Special Applications may be purchased by phone, on the internet or at license dealers. Be sure to read the pamphlet when it comes out and don't mail any applications to the Olympia office. In order to get a license you must render your social security number - it is the law.

Upcoming Events: Lake Chelan Fishing Derby - May 18-20. For derby tickets call Mike Eldridge at 682-4674. Friends of the NRA - They will have their annual banquet May 19, 2001 at the Convention Center. Social hour is 5:30 and dinner at 7:00. Contact Eric Thompson at 662-1348. Tickets are $30.00 and can be purchased at Hooked-On-Toys and Rocky's House of Guns.

Work Parties: - Pete Lopushinsy has two work parties scheduled. May 12th he will need two crews of 6, one crew in Stray Draw and one crew in the Tukison. Each crew will be building a feeder and dismantling and hauling out an old feeder. Things to bring: lunch, cool weather gear, hammer, pry bars, ¼ & 3/8 socket set, leather gloves and other personal gear you wish to have along. Meet at the Colockum Headquarters around 8:00am. The club will provide liquid refreshments. Pete will provide 3 department rigs. ***Note: These work parties are not limited to just 12 people.

Program:Liz Tanke will provide a program on the importance of identification of noxious weeds and the eradication of such weeds.
