General Meeting:  November 13, 2006                Cedars Inn Motel – 7:00pm (Traffic light @ corner Hwy 28 & 9th St.)

Meeting Location:  Our meeting site is still the Cedars Inn; however we are looking into three other locations.

Game Meat:  With hunting season in full swing, Ron Bruno is always on the lookout for donated wild game meat.  Contact Ron at 884-9369 or cell # 679-2359.   Coolers are located at Neal Fulwiler’s 663-9076, George Komro can assist you with your freezer needs 24 hours a day.   His freezer is located at  1579 Tedford St..  Call George at 884-5359.  Ron is always in need of meat cutters as well.

Game Feed Committee Meeting:  Chairman Gene Robard has requested a game feed committee meeting on Nov. 7th, 7:00pm at Abbey’s West.  Your participation is needed and welcome.

Feeder Fillings:  Tom McCall has tentatively set Nov. 8th to fill feeders in the Chelan Wildlife area (Chelan Butte).  This will be before our Nov. 13th meeting.  Give Tom a call at 665-3391 or Bill Stegeman at 663-7529 or his cell 393-9528, if you wish to help.  Bill will keep you posted when Pete will be filling his feeders.

Department Report:    Amy Woods reports the following:  There will be steelhead fishing on the Columbia River between Rocky Reach Dam and up to 400 feet below Chief Joseph Dam.  The season runs from Oct. 21st through March 31st, 2007.  Allowable catch is two (2) hatchery clipped fish, those bearing an anchor tag cannt be removed from the water.  No night fishing.  IF THREE (3) WILD FISH ARE FOUND TO BE CAUGHT,  KILLED OR ACCIDENTALY KILLED THE SEASON WILL BE CLOSED.  Please help spread the word on this issue.  The Okanogan and Methow Rivers are closed.

General cougar season closes November 19th.

    Bear season closes Nov. 15th.

There will be pheasant releases up to Thanksgiving.

Firewood:  The association has 8 to 10 cord of firewood logs.  The logs need to be cut and stacked in 1 cord units.  The wood can then be sold and the money donated to our club to be used to assist in wildlife work.  We need to have a wood cutting party and have someone in charge of the wood sales.  If interested be at the November meeting and let the club know of your interest.

Donation Cans:  Tom McCall could be looking for someone to put out donation cans and maintain them to raise money to buy grain for 8 or 10 local turkey feeders.  These are feeders the “old turkey club” built and maintained.  If interested call Tom at 665-3391.

Little Big Horn Show:  Due to the size of our current meeting site, our December “Little Big Horn Show” will be cancelled.  By next year we will have a site large enough to continue the horn show.  We are sorry for the cancellation, this transition time is the pits!!

October Program:  We wish to thank Jerry Gutzwiler, Dennis Beich and Sargent Dale Ward for fielding questions and concerns with the Department.

November Program:  Gary Koehler – a cougar specialist working in the Cle Elum area will be our program speaker.  He works with Cle Elum High School students in collaring and monitoring cougars.

December Program:  Our club is hoping to get Region 3 Director Jeff Tayer to be our program.  The agenda being the Colockum elk herd.  We will not have the horn show as mentioned earlier.
