We also have coolers available with Neal Fulwiler (663-9076), Jerry Gutzwiler (663-7633) and Steve Burmeister (663-3721). Meat Cutters: Ron Bruno is compiling a list of individuals he can call at a moments notice to handle donated game meat when he is unavailable. If you are interested in helping out contact Ron at 884-9369.

Department Report:Bob Perleberg reports the general deer season runs from Oct. 12th to the 20th in eastern Washington. Muzzleloader season for elk in eastern Washington runs Oct. 5th - 11th. Upland birds in eastern Washington (pheasant and quail) opens Oct. 5th, Chuckar, ducks and geese opens Oct. 1. Chinook salmon fishing on the Columbia river above Priest Rapids Dam ends Oct. 15th. Crow season runs Oct. 1 through Jan. 31, 2003. Since it is illegal to shoot ravens be sure to review the differences between ravens and crows on page 29 of the Migratory Water Fowl - Upland Game Bird pamphlet. Be sure to check all hunting regulations before venturing out into the field.
Always seek permission to hunt on private property.

Fire Safety:: With the continued hot, dry, late summer and early fall weather the potential fire season is still at it's extreme high level. Both the D.N.R. and W.D.F.W. are asking all hunters and recreation people to use extreme caution when using the outdoors. The Washington Hunting News, which is a department newspaper containing many articles on hunting issues is available at Bob Perleberg's office.

Work Parties:Neal Fulwiler canceled his work party until the potential fire danger goes down.

Web Page:Our web page is www.ncwoutdoors.com - check it out.

Items Available:Matt Gutzwiler has lots of caps, glasses and "T" shirts for sale. They are for sale at our regular meetings.

Program:We wish to thank Beau Patterson for his hunting prospects for this fall. Our October program will be Jim Pritchard informing us on the impact of the Department of Natural Resources errosion control policies they want to impose on all private and public lands. These are policies that could be very expensive to implement by the land owner. While this program isn't about hunting, it is about the potential inability to access private and public roads affected by the D.N.R errosion control policies due to the cost of keeping them open.
